To paraphrase my second-favorite sportscaster named McKnight ("Dodgeball"'s play-by-play man Cotton McKnight, no relation), " It's time to separate the wheat from the chaff, the men from the boys!" At least from the sportscaster perspective. Tonight starts the most challenging part of the Troy calendar for me: the "overlap". Troy basketball opens tonight at home against the Huntingdon Hawks at Sartain Hall at 7PM (air time 6:30 on 94.7FM in Troy, 560AM in Dothan, and online at troytrojans.com), then Homecoming football Saturday at 2:30 at Veterans Memorial Stadium featuring the Troy Trojans and the (no longer "Golden") Panthers of FIU. Air time for that one is at 12:30 on the full Troy Sports Network and online at troytrojans.com as well.Then, Sunday to prepare for Troy @ Alabama basketball Monday night in Tuscaloosa, after the Troy football press conference in Troy Monday afternoon....
